The Drive Beyond Duty

Responsibility and obligation are the driving forces behind much of what I do.

Everyday, I get out of bed, and do my part as a member of society because I understand that I am responsible of my own life.I can’t rely on others to guide me through life’s challenges forever. Ultimately, the mistakes I make are mine to correct, so it’s important that I put my best effort into everything I do.

There are also short-term motivators that push me in specific moments. For example, when I bought a new keyboard for work, the satisfying typing sound inspired me to finish a lot of work ahead of schedule. Similarly, when I have a vacation coming up, I’m more enthusiastic and focused on finishing my work.

However, as I reflect on what truly motivates me, I’ve realized that my interpretation of motivation has been too focused on work. I now see that discovering my true motivation will inspire my personal growth – not just my career.

I aspire to be driven by something deeper than just duty or fleeting pleasures. I want to find motivation in the things that bring me joy, not just in my work but in all aspects of my life.

I’m still on the journey to discover what truly makes me happy and what I want for myself. It hasn’t been easy. but I’m confident that when I do discover my source of happiness, my motivation will be more powerful and meaningful than it is today.

    1. I’m on the journey trying to find out what I enjoy. Sometimes I like taking a walk and I was really into cooking a few months back. Before the pandemic I was really into weight training, but never really got back into it. There’s nothing that really sticks, so it’s hard to say..

I guess I can think positively and say that I’m into everything and anything.
